Objective: Create a community of support while keeping girls engaged in the program.
Throughout the school year, girls will be exposed to remote technology conferences via a projector that will show them a representation role models working in technology. Emphasis will be put on finding conferences with female role models present. Research has shown that people choose role models who are competent, succeed in their goals, and who are relevant or similar to themselves.
Many programs such as Technovation exist in Kenya, however, girls often are not informed these opportunities. Exposing girls to these programs and opportunities will benefit them greatly through continually learning and challenging themselves.
Every year the UN team in charge of implementing this solution in Narobi will find new opportunities and free virtual conferences to update to expose the participants in the program to.
