<aside> 💡 In this playbook, we will look at how we will come into contact with schools, what information we need from the schools, which schools belong in which buckets and some schools we've already scouted.

There are multiple ways of getting into contact with schools:
Through our research, a small amount (<30%) of schools have email, a good amount (~50%) have phone numbers and the vast majority (~100%) have addresses and PO boxes. You could come into contact with ~50% of the schools through email and telephone. Deploying people on the ground to visit the schools may be inefficient, thus we must contact the schools indirectly.
This contact method is through a middleman. The schools we're targeting are already in contact with several entities, so by contacting the entities, you can hit all the schools they're connected to. Here are some ideas of who to contact: Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (standardized test that all high school Kenyan's must do), Universities, Government departments (Ministry of Education (since they have statistical reports of the state of education across Kenya), Ministry of Finance (they allocate money to the schools)), and county leaders.
Who to talk to
The people who have the influence to let this program into the schools are either the Principals, or the patrons (teacher in charge of extracurriculars) of the school.
We've created an email template, along with a google form to address what information we need from the schools:
Subject: Potential Partnership with the United Nations
Greetings [school name],
The United Nations is trying to the digital divide problem. One of the Sustainable Developement goals is gender equality. We're trying to solve the Digital Divide problem in Kenya, and to do so we're targeting all girls secondary schools to implement a technology mentorship program within the school's extracurricular time. This program will provide mentorship, technology mentorship resources and support.
